It was almost inevitable Dan Bell would forge a career in foreign exchange. He discovered early that the financial markets were a fascinating reflection of global political and economic events and helping clients navigate uncertainty would be a rewarding career.

Joining the private client dealing team at HiFX (now Xe.com) in 2004, Dan quickly progressed through the ranks before moving on to a senior corporate FX role at ANZ National Bank. This gave him exposure to large private and publicly listed companies, and a memorable opportunity to hedge the FX for the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Dan returned to Xe during a growth period for the company, leading teams and advising clients across New Zealand and Australia, and later spending time in the North American market, based in Toronto. Returning to New Zealand, Dan continued to expand his skillset by moving into mortgages and property finance with Squirrel, where he worked for four years leading the mortgage advisory team and providing funding solutions to commercial and development clients.

Now at Electus Financial, Dan is excited to return to his passion for foreign exchange and leverage his years of experience, delivering personalised service and advice to his clients, and connecting them with the top FX providers in the world.

Outside of Electus, Dan also runs Colab, a mortgage and property finance advisory business. He lives in Auckland with his wife and two teenaged children and stays active by surfing & running– and spends his downtime listening to a good podcast and cooking up a storm on his charcoal BBQ.
