Roger Henderson
IT Architect/Systems Analyst
Roger Henderson has followed his passion for problem-solving right throughout his wide-ranging career in software development.
After studying for a physics degree imagining he’d one day become a pilot, Roger soon diverted his skills to a laboratory at a manufacturing company in Timaru. From there he progressed to building and setting up computers before transferring to Auckland where he worked at Bluebird Foods as a process engineer. Roger’s love for establishing complex systems has led him from automation work in manufacturing plants, to becoming a solutions architect at Aon Insurance, where he spearheaded a significant KiwiSaver project. Over the years, Roger has overseen large-scale software operations, established complex IT systems and implemented multiple integration projects with financial institutions. Also if your tin opener stops working, Roger can probably figure out why.
Recently Roger has been working with Doyle Sails, where he’s developed the sailmaker company’s software infrastructure, along with a sleek quoting and ordering system. He also oversees the specialist currency software needs at Electus Financial, where his unflappable, troubleshooting nature and desire to build a jet pack has earned him comparisons with Iron Man.
Now firmly entrenched in the Electus Financial’s North Shore office, it’s the lack of ego and hierarchy within the company that Roger finds appealing, along with the golf simulator in the meeting room. A former competitive cricketer who has also run several marathons and Coast to Coasts, Roger now coaches his teenaged son’s cricket team.
